Spinach Fatayer

Ingredients

Dough
All-purpose flour
Salt
Vegetable oil
Water
Yeast
Spinach filling
Spinach fresh/frozen
Onion chopped
Lemon juice
Vegetable oil
Salt
Pepper
Pine nuts
Sumac powder

Preparation

  1. Mix flour, salt and yeast in a dough machine.
  2. Add oil and warm water.
  3. Knead into a little elastic consistency.
  4. Make small shaped balls. Cover and keep it aside.
  5. Saute chopped onions in olive oil.
  6. Add frozen or fresh boiled and squeezed to dry spinach.
  7. Cook it till moisture evaporates.
  8. Season it with salt, pepper and sumac powder.
  9. Add pine nuts and remove from heat to cool it down.
  10. Roll the balls flat and add a spoon of spinach in each sheet.
  11. Form it in triangle shape.
  12. Bake it in a preheated oven till it turns to golden brown color.
