Five Bean and Chili Falafel



Garbanzo beans
Fava beans
Kidney beans
Pinto beans
White beans
Coriander, chopped
Spring onion (green part only), chopped
Parsley, chopped
Cumin powder
Coriander ground
Baking powder
Garlic mash
Chili, chopped
Vegetable frying oil
Tahina sauce


Falafel Mixture

  1. Soak the chickpeas and face beans overnight.
  2. Drain and rinse them in a sieve till water passing through is clear.
  3. Put chickpeas, fava beans, coriander, spring onions, garlic and parsley in food processor.
  4. Blend it in medium speed until semi-smooth.
  5. Season with cumin, coriander, salt and pepper.
  6. Stir baking powder into the mixture, before frying it.
  7. Heat the oil to 325-350°F
  8. Falafel can be made and fried by hand also.
  9. Using a special equipment which is flat round in shape.
  10. Slowly leave in hot oil, when it pops up remove and drain on a kitchen paper.
  11. Serve with Tahina sauce
