Detailing
Front Bar Counter
Bar counters must always be positioned so they are not visible upon arrival into the restaurant
It is intended for these not to be the main focus of the lounge bar
There is a domestic styling aesthetic to the design, almost to appear as a large table within a persons home
Bar stools will be positioned at the counter where space permits, an odd number is recommended
There must be space to allow for dispense at one end of the counter. This will also act as tea/coffee dispense for waitress collection during the breakfast service
A minimum of 850mm must be maintained between the bar equipment and back bar counter to enable ease of staff movement
Glass pendant (L02) to be centred over each panelled bay of front counter
Bar equipment layouts must always conform to the ‘Restaurant Bar’ prototype within the Hilton Worldwide Food and Beverage Bar Design Manual
An indicative layout to suit this front bar design is shown in the Catering Section 10 of this manual
Counter length varies depending on site specifics. Must ensure length can cater for the full equipment requirements to be housed behind counter
Back Bar Counter
Bar counters must always be positioned so they are not visible upon arrival into the restaurant
It is intended for these not to be the main focus of the lounge bar
Operable back bar with cupboard doors on pocket hinges allow the option to hide or display spirits for changing day to night settings
Where a ‘dry’ bar location occurs, these doors will NOT be required on pocket hinges and the cupboards can be used for general storage
A minimum of 850mm must be maintained between the bar equipment and back bar counter to enable ease of staff movement

Hot Sand Coffee Station
This station must always be located upon the guests arrival into the restaurant and sit adjacent to the bar counter
Adequate storage space and display shelves for coffee pots and cups to be provided at this station
Electrical heated unit set within counter top to provide the heat beneath the sand tray
Typical Sofa
Sofa arrangements to be located as close as possible to the bar counter, with dining height bar furniture positioned the other side
Grey or Purple leather to be used, both if more than one sofa is installed
Grey leather FA08 preferred use on sofas which back onto restaurant space
Purple leather FA10 preferred use on sofas which back onto windows or face out towards the rest of the space
Bright red FA06 contrasting buttons to be used on both colours of leather
Sofas to be paired up with coffee tables and either armchair or pouf configurations
Grey leather sofas paired with dark purple fabric armchairs C01
Purple leather sofas paired with navy blue poufs C03
3no. square scatter cushions positioned in centre of sofas, mixture of green FA03 and lime FA04 upholstery. Approx. 350mm x 350mm
Round bolster cushions positioned at the end of sofas, navy blue FA05 upholstery. Max. L 550mm x DIA 200mm
Sofa length - minimum 2800mm maximum 3500mm
Glass Screen
Glass screens to be used as a divider between the lounge bar and main dining space or thoroughfare
These screens will always be positioned behind the sofa within the bar
The overall length of screen will vary between 2800mm and 3500mm to match with the required length of sofa within space
The height is always fixed at 1500mm to allow vision over the top
The overall screen must always be split equally into 3 panels
Planter Troughs
Planter troughs to be used on an adjacent wall next to the bar counter
They must always be mounted on the tiled wall finish TL04, with the setting out as shown
Dimensions to always be as per those shownon drawing
Plants must be of a suitable indoor variety, and able to be trimmed and kept at a sensible size
Fairy lights L12 to be incorporated into plants to create a change of lighting levels during the evening
Ceiling Detailing
The tiled ceiling finish must only be used above the bar counters, and adjoin the tiled wall of the same finish. This ceiling is at a height of CH 2800mm
The timber planked and beamed ceiling will be located over the rest of the lounge bar seating area. This ceiling is at a height of CH 3200mm to u/s of planked timber
These lowered ceilings in the bar area will be contained within a painted bulkhead at a height of CH 2800mm
Beams should be equally spaced on the bar ceiling at distances of between 1200mm - 1500mm
